Why we invested

Aigen combines world-leading hardware efficiency with robust autonomy, creating a platform capable of operating and acting on any acre. This closes the loop between energy and labor: machines that harvest sunlight and spend it pulling weeds.

Untethered wild autonomy

Until now, robots in the field have been operationally limited, tethered to fixed power sources and dependent on human operators to step in when something inevitably breaks. Aigen has built a system with zero-cost power supply; a specialised design to navigate rugged terrain; task-specific form factor; and edge intelligence that amplifies the system and provides swarming capability. The result is an always-on robotic system operating at a scale and duration impossible for human operators or generalist robots.

A world model for land management

Spatial and physical-world data will fuel the next intelligence frontier. Aigen’s robots earn their presence in the field by providing high value weeding applications. While doing so, the fleet generates a high-fidelity dataset that has been scaled into a world model for agriculture. New crops, geographies and use-cases are now trained in days, not months, opening up huge markets. The end-result is the basis for unbounded autonomy in agriculture and land management: an ecosystem of embodied intelligence operating across 80% of the Earth's landmass that is currently uninhabited by humans or machines.

A roboticist and a software engineer

Rich has been designing machines of the future for his entire career. He's an expert in making high-performing electric machines that are capable in harsh conditions, from electric boats to EVs. Kenny exited a cybersecurity startup before founding Aigen, and has become deeply attuned to farmers’ lived reality. He tells their stories, worries about the impacts on their health due to chemicals, and frames Aigen’s purpose as giving farmers more options to make a healthy living.

Machines of loving grace

Aigen is pioneering a regime shift where adaptive, energy-independent robots extend human perception, cognition, and action into the most complex real-world domains. This paves the way for a future where intelligent machines become a general-purpose extension of humanity, giving us the freedom to explore, understand, and shape our world in unprecedented ways.

Our potential is really built upon the bedrock of a robotic platform that's constantly out in the field. The eyes of the robot are learning at all times. It has ears. It has sensors. It has arms. Once we're on the farm, what else can we do? The ideas usually start flowing from the farmers rather than the other way around.
