Alex is the only person to free solo both El Capitan and Half Dome, alongside two dozen other first and only known free solo ascents. He continues to redefine what is physically and mentally possible. In 2012, he founded the Honnold Foundation, which funds solar energy projects across more than 17 countries, hosts the podcasts Climbing Gold and Planet Visionaries, and fronts Arctic Ascent on National Geographic. Alex embodies something central to our thesis: that the most mindblowing breakthroughs come not from recklessness, but from the disciplined pursuit of what others believe to be impossible.
